CarPlay will not connect
Turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on, remove the old CarPlay pairing on your phone, restart the MMI, then pair again. If the module was previously working, a phone OS update may have changed Bluetooth behaviour — delete and re-pair.

Select the correct MMI media input, raise both phone and vehicle volume, and confirm the harness is fully clicked in. On Bang & Olufsen systems, the factory EQ profile may sound different after installation — this is expected and can be adjusted.
Reverse camera not appearing
Confirm the camera worked before installation, then check the harness connection and the reverse trigger setting on the module. Some MMI 3G systems require a coding change to display the camera feed correctly.
Steering controls not responding
Restart the MMI and confirm the module harness is seated firmly at the factory MMI connector. If only some buttons work, the module may need a firmware update — contact support with your order number.
Android Auto not connecting
Ensure Google Play Services is updated, clear the Android Auto app cache, and confirm your phone supports wireless Android Auto. Some Android phones require an initial wired connection before wireless pairing works.
Screen freezing or lag
Try a soft reset of the MMI by holding the power button for 10 seconds. If the issue persists, the module firmware may need updating — contact support. Brief lag when switching between CarPlay and the factory MMI is normal.
Module not powering on
Check that the power connector is fully seated and the inline fuse in the harness is intact. If the MMI powers on but the module does not, contact support for a warranty claim.
Siri or Google Assistant not hearing voice commands
Check that the microphone connector is plugged into the module, not the factory microphone input. On some Audi models, the factory microphone handles phone calls while the module microphone handles voice commands.

Does my Audi support Apple CarPlay?
Most MMI-equipped Audi models from 2008–2018 can be upgraded with a plug-and-play CarPlay module. Compatibility depends on model year and MMI system, so every order is checked before dispatch.
How do I identify my Audi MMI system?
Look at the screen, controller and software version. A plain rotary dial usually indicates MMI 3G, a touchpad dial usually indicates MMI 3G+, and newer flat menus may indicate MIB.
Will my reverse camera still work?
Yes. The kit integrates with the factory MMI rather than replacing it, so the reverse camera and parking sensors remain active.
Do steering wheel controls work with CarPlay?
Yes. Volume, track skip, calls and voice controls continue to work through the factory controls.
Do I need coding or a dealer visit?
No. Supported kits are plug-and-play and do not require VCDS, OBD coding or dealer programming.
Can I install the Audi CarPlay kit myself?
