Audi Q4 CarPlay Upgrade Guide (2019–2023): MIB3 Compatibility

The Audi Q4 is one of the newest cars on our compatibility list, and because it uses the MIB3 platform there is one important thing to check first: some Q4s may already have factory CarPlay fitted. This guide explains which Q4 years we support, the system it uses, and how to confirm whether you actually need a kit at all.
Which Audi Q4 years are supported
We support the Audi Q4 from 2019 to 2023. The Q4 uses the MIB3 platform across that range, so the kit and harness are consistent. If your Q4 sits outside those years, send a dashboard photo on the order page and we will confirm honestly before you commit.
The MIB3 system in the Q4
The Q4 uses Audi's MIB3 infotainment system — the modern touchscreen interface. Our kit integrates with the MIB3 control unit using keyed harness connectors, so CarPlay appears on your existing screen as a new input source. No screen replacement, no wire cutting, no coding. See our MIB3 explainer for more on the platform.
Check if your Q4 already has CarPlay
Because the Q4 is a newer car on the MIB3 platform, some examples may already have factory CarPlay fitted. Before ordering, check your MIB3 menus — look for a CarPlay or smartphone interface option in the connectivity or media settings. If CarPlay is already there, you do not need a kit. If it is not, our kit adds it. This is the single most useful check you can do on a 2019+ car before spending anything.
What stays working afterwards
- Factory Audi navigation (where fitted)
- Reverse camera and parking sensors (where fitted)
- Steering wheel controls — volume, skip, voice, calls
- Factory audio system
- All MIB3 vehicle settings and menus
How to confirm your exact Q4
First, check whether your car already has CarPlay (above). If it does not, select your model and year on the order page and upload a dashboard photo — we verify every order against your photo before anything ships. You can also use our free compatibility checker.
